How your program is designed

Pioneers are first to disrupt, breakthrough or change the status quo for the better.

Innovators increase value by being remarkable and therefore do what’s remarkable.

Read why we’re all remarkable here and here.

Role models leave a legacy while you’re alive, future-proof your business, and make the world a better place.

Foundational to being a pioneer, innovator and role model is embracing the appreciation principle by fully appreciating and getting the best out of yourself and other people every day.

“The deepest principle in human nature is the craving to be appreciated.” - William James

Your program will be designed with you and your team or carefully selected participants so that you systematically apply the Appreciation principle in your own best way, and integrate it with what you’re already doing that’s working well for you.

It's likely we will tap into and use in some way my really useful models:

Each model and the key outcomes of integrating them into your workplace are explored in short videos and more detail below.

Important Note: The  subject matter of your program doesn't have to embrace the seven models per se. We will design your content completely bespoke. The aim is to increase the number of people being remarkable, and doing meaningful to them and highly valuable to others work, because this is the sure-fire path to better business results at less personal cost.

Your investment

One hour, one day or over one month projects and working together in person are value based fees. We'll agree on objectives, success metrics and value of results to you and then agree on a fee which is payable monthly in advance on a seven day invoice.

Working together online requires an investment of $330AUD per hour paid in advance.

Sustaining shared-view (Ours) keeps everyone on the same page and means you can triumph over all your troubles and thrive in any circumstance.

Life’s too short for conflict, difficulty or disagreement in your workplace. Focus on finding and sustaining shared-view (Ours) in seven areas of significance where the most successful leaders stand out.

1. where we are (reality)

2. where we're going (possibility)

3. why we're going there (purpose)

4. how we will get there (strategy)

5. who will do what and when (execution)

6. how we will know we are on track (milestones and lead measures)

7. how we will behave along the way (culture &values

Get communication and conversation right for you and you'll have all the time, energy and attention you want to do work that’s meaningful to you and of high value to other people.

Distraction is the great disrupter. Most emails, meetings, and other message mediums are actually wasting our time, depleting our energy and depriving our attention.

Of course choose time to daydream and be distracted.

However make certain this is in harmony with the deep work and deliberate practice essential to master candid and convivial communication and conversations.

When employees feel valued and live values they deliver value. Your outcome is clear differentiation (like the difference between night and day) from your competitors.

Value delivery is the simplest yet most profound way to differentiate your business from everybody else.

To do this you need a very special kind of leadership, management and culture, and a willingness to apply proven principles in your own best way.

At the start of 2015 it became clear on the road ahead for my business we were facing some serious challenges.

We had just purchased the Budget franchise and were experiencing inconsistent business results, some big rental agency changes, and some poor staff attitudes had crept in.

I had heard Ian speak at a function in 2014 and I had been impressed with the message of his talk that day.

Ian has worked as a mentor to me for the last 14 months. He's also run sessions and worked 1:1 with my staff.

We've made several small shifts in how we conduct our business that have made a significant difference with my key people, how we work, and to our results.

I'm continuing the journey with Ian 1:1 and as a member of Ian's master-mind group.

Thriving on the challenges of change is a process, not something you can manage.

You don’t need a change program.

You need a change process.

Your Outcome: Every day innovation and an ability to thrive on the challenges of change.

Imagine more people leading and being accountable in your workplace! These are the key outcomes of integrating the ET(Y)G model with what you're already doing that's working well for you.

The purpose of leadership is to create more leaders.

The number one role of leadership is to unleash and enhance people’s gifts.

100 times Return On Investment or more on your leadership development and learning and development in general is what will happen when you apply this model in your own best way.

Learning and development events are important and must be remarkable in themselves.

Return On Investment however is only guaranteed by ensuring what you do before and after is also remarkable.

Research in 2004 by Dr. Brent Peterson of Columbia University showed that pre and post activities provide 76% of learning effectiveness with the actual event only 24%.

We'll reflect this model in all our work together by agreeing on pre and post "in the room" actions.

A key to your ongoing success is metrics that matter and having continuous visibility of progress.

Turning your values into virtues is paramount.

If your values are just words, rather than agreed behaviours, then what you are achieving is far less than what is possible.

I’ve had the pleasure of working with Ian for close to two years in one-on-one and group settings. Ian’s unconventional in his approach (refreshing!) but works to a brilliantly simple yet powerful philosophy that centres around our experiences as human beings (shocking I know!!). He’s a purpose and values-driven mentor and team builder who I’d recommend to anyone.
