The following is an example of a leadership development residential and online Pioneers Program which can be combined with the residential as a follow-through, or be undertaken as a standalone experience.
Residential's can be for your team, board, or master-mind or peer group, or something "conspicuously extraordinary" for your key customers/clients. Learn more at the bottom of the page.
Remarkablise Your Leadership Symposium and Pioneers Program
guaranteeing remarkable ROI on leadership development
McKinsey came up with 4 reasons why leadership development programs fail in their excellent quarterly article of January 2014. You can read it here. Their 4 reasons: "overlooking context, decoupling reflection from real work, underestimating mindsets, and failing to measure results."
I've invested many hours contemplating the ROI question. More importantly I've been in the trenches for over a quarter of a century. Remarkable ROI for me is what the top 1% achieve i.e. greater than 10 times.
Through my work with more than 1000 leaders, women and men, in over 40 countries since 1991, I've settled on seven essentials for success in leadership development. The seven underpin all of my work. The seven are pictured in my professional services guidebook which you can download here. The key is not the seven though rather working together as you apply them in your own best way.
Your Symposium is a unique two day event
held in a special location near my home
on the Bellarine Peninsula, Victoria, Australia,
or somewhere special that you arrange.
The Pioneers Program is a five-month follow-through
or standalone experience that taps into the seven essentials for remarkable ROI (greater than 10 times) in leadership development. The methodologies used are master-mind groups, 1:1 master-mentor relationship, and associated accountability and support.
I participated in an engaging and entertaining seminar presented by Ian and was inspired to go further. Now that I have undertaken and benefited from Ian’s intensive mentoring program, his teachings have become integral to the success of my personal and business life.
Most people don't know they're remarkable, or they have forgotten, and consequently they don't consistently bring the best version of themselves to their work. The holy grail of 21st century leadership therefore is inspiring, reminding, and sometimes persuading people that they're remarkable. Read about why we're all remarkable here and here.
Participate in the Remarkablise Your Leadership Symposium and/or the Pioneers Program, and you will learn and decide in your own best way how to lead people to becoming and sustaining being remarkable.
Being remarkable doesn't mean being perfect. Being remarkable is a mindset and a method for consistently performing at optimum levels as well as overcoming the challenges and setbacks that are integral to being human.
You're the master. I'm the mentor. Find out more about this key to us working together here.
I’ve had the pleasure of working with Ian for close to two years in one-on-one and group settings. Ian’s unconventional in his approach (refreshing!) but works to a brilliantly simple yet powerful philosophy that centres around our experiences as human beings (shocking I know!!). He’s a purpose and values-driven mentor and team builder who I’d recommend to anyone.
Recently I worked out that if I was to teach everything I've learned through working as a business mentor, strategist and professional speaker since 1991, it would take 75 days! The good news is that I've distilled everything into 4 publications pictured below. Except for The Appreciative Leader handbook which you will receive at the Symposium or prior to your commencement in the Pioneers Program, you can download the other three from my gifts for you page here.
The five fundamentals of building and sustaining a remarkable workplace.
The proven foundation model for remarkable workplaces and how to use it in your own best way.
The breakthrough change process pictured opposite and how you can use it to thrive on the challenges of change or design and follow your own process based on the five proven principles.
Leadership author Max De Pree has said that the "first responsibility of the leader is to define reality". This change process, or your own that you develop during the symposium, will keep you grounded in reality yet focused on moving from what is to what can be.
The diagnostic pictured opposite.
You will leave the symposium with a clear, precise, and executable plan to sustain shared-view in the seven areas of significance where the most successful leaders stand out.
In the Pioneers Program we will take a deep dive into the above, explore your full use of the The Appreciative Leader Handbook in your own best way, as well as address matters that are vital to you in your ongoing journey as a remarkable leader.
